Kathmandu: Amid political crisis in Nepal, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli led government to call the Winter Session of the Upper House of Parliament on 1 January from the President. Is recommended.

Earlier on Sunday, President Vidya Devi Bhandari announced the dissolution of the House of Representatives and midterm elections on the recommendation of KP Sharma Oli. After this announcement, political crisis has deepened in Nepal.

Opposition parties are protesting

A section of the ruling party and opposition parties are protesting against the crisis-hit Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli.

In an interview to a newspaper, Health Minister Hridayesh Tripathi said that in the cabinet meeting held on Friday evening, it has been decided to recommend to the President to call the session of the Upper House National Assembly on January 1.

‘Show cause’ notice to Oli government

The Supreme Court of Nepal is hearing 13 writ petitions filed against dissolution of the House of Representatives. The Court on Friday issued a ‘show cause’ notice to the Oli government and sought written clarification on the sudden decision to dissolve Parliament.

There is no provision in the Constitution of Nepal to dissolve the house, so Prime Minister K.K. A petition has been filed in court against P. Sharma Oli. Political turmoil has been going on in Nepal for the past several months.
