Testing of the much awaited BBV 152 Covid-19 (BBV152 Covid-19) vaccine or Covaccine has started at the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital, one of the 12 centers selected by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). An official of the institute said that these 12 centers have been selected for the first and second phase process.

Principal researcher of the testing process, Dr. E. Venkata Rao, told that the covaxin being developed by Bharat Biotech was applied to a select few who had come forward to be part of this important test. He said that all those who were vaccinated have been kept under observation and all of them are ‘absolutely fine’.

Rao said that the volunteers who came forward to undergo the vaccine had to go through a rigorous screening process and were given these vaccines following the protocol set by the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI). He said that the selected volunteers would be given two doses in a span of 14 days.
