Today is Sourav Ganguly’s birthday as one of the most successful captains of Indian cricket. Ganguly changed the face of Indian cricket with his combative and aggressive attitude. This left-handed batsman gave new confidence to Indian cricket.

Sourav Ganguly, also known as ‘Dada’ among his fans, was the first face of Indian cricket that further strengthened the team’s confidence of winning matches outside the country. Especially in the beginning of the year 2000, he proved to be a ‘game changer’ for the Indian team.

‘Prince of Kolkata’ Saurav Ganguly has turned 48 today. Ganguly took command of the team at a time when Indian cricket was going through its worst phase.

Ganguly also pulled the team out of match-fixing controversies and gave cricketers like India’s greatest match-winners Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Virender Sehwag, Zaheer Khan and Mahendra Singh Dhoni a chance to perform better.

Today, even as a BCCI President, Ganguly is constantly trying to improve the Indian society.

The Indian team played 146 One Day matches under the captaincy of Ganguly. Out of which the Indian team won in 76. 65 matches were lost. While the result of 5 one-day matches did not come. Ganguly’s ODI winning percentage is 53.90.
