Hagrid Actor News and Update

We are sad to share that Robbie Coltrane has passed away. He was 72 years old and had spent the last two years in a care home.

The actor’s agent Belinda Wright confirmed in an official statement that Robbie had breathed his last at a hospital near Falkirk in Scotland.

Robbie is best known for his role as Rubeus Hagrid in all eight Harry Potter films, but he also appeared in the TV series Game of Thrones, The Tudors, Jonathan Creek and The Borgias. He also wrote several books about his life experiences as an actor and comedian.

In addition to being an actor, Robbie was also a writer who penned several books about his experiences as both an actor and comedian. His first book was published in 2000 when he was 55 years old and his last book was published in 2017 when he was 72 years old.

Previous Life

Robbie Coltrane was a Scottish actor, comedian and writer. He gained worldwide recognition as Rubeus Hagrid in the Harry Potter film series. For his performance on the show, he won the best actor award at the British Academy Television Awards (BAFTA) three years running.

Robbie Coltrane was born on March 30,1950 in Glasgow, Scotland. He attended school at St Aloysius College, Glasgow before later attending Glasgow University where he studied English Literature and French Language & Literature. After graduating Robbie decided to pursue acting full time and moved to London where he studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA).

Robbie Coltrane’s first breakthrough role came when he joined the cast of Alfresco as side role by Robbie Ross who would go on to win Best Actor awards for three successive years from 1994-97.

Message from his Co-workers

Coltrane was best known for playing the role of a giant in the “Harry Potter” movies, but he also had a long career as a voice actor, appearing in several different projects including “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy and “Batman: The Animated Series.”

J.K. Rowling separately honored Coltrane with a post on Twitter, writing, “I’ll never know anyone remotely like Robbie again. He was an incredible talent, a complete one off, and I was beyond fortunate to know him, work with him and laugh my head off with him. I send my love and deepest condolences to his family, above all his children.”

A lot of people are sad to see Hagrid actor Stephen Fry go, but we’re just glad he’s getting the chance to do more projects. He’s been starring in Alfresco since 2010, and he’s been a part of it for years. He tweeted out today that he’d be leaving the show, which is set in the 1800s and focuses on the treaty between wizards and muggles.

“There are so many things I’ve learned from this experience that I’ll never forget,” he said. “It’s been a privilege to work with such talented people who share my passion for good stories.” We’re sure Hagrid won’t be the only character Stephen Fry will play after his time on Alfresco—he’s got plenty of experience under his belt!
